Football Media Day Success Despite Rain; Practice Cut Short Due To Thunderstorms

TAMPA, Fla. (Aug. 7, 2007) – The University of South Florida football team battled the weather twice on Tuesday, first fighting off the rain at its annual football media day and then battling with thunderstorms at its evening practice. In the end, the rain subsided for media day, but lightning and inclement weather caused practice to be halted 20 minutes into the start.

The Bulls arrived at Raymond James Stadium at 3 p.m. and were welcomed by various media outlets from around the area. Numerous players and coaches were available to discuss the upcoming season.

After the weather cleared, the team was able to make its way to the field and participate in photo opportunities.

The Bulls returned to campus and opened their second day of practice at 8 p.m. The team broke up into separate groups and had a chance to run through some plays and drills before thunder and lightning forced the cancellation.

USF will return to practice on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
