Will we have 30K plus at the Opener ?

Excluding FAMU, we've never been close to 30K in a Home Opener since we became 1A.

With the season ticket sales going well and single game tix showing excitement, will we finally cross over 30K ?

On a side note, and not to start an OCS thread ... received an email last night from an Iron Bull that stated an OCS will not be seriously entertained until we sell out the lower bowl for a 1AA game. Reasoning is that when we have enough fans wanting to see the BULLS in numbers of nearly 40K, we'll have enough donors that will support this team going to the next level ... of National Power.

I really think that we will get over 30k for the opener.  I don't know if it's just that I am so excited for this season, but it seems that there is so much more of a buzz for USF football this year.  People talking about the team that I would have never thought would, more USF bumper stickers on cars, more USF license plates, etc.  I don't know what all of that will translate to attendance-wise, but it can't hurt.

Yeah, I think there's more of a buzz this year about USF football.

30,000 is not out of the question.

The weather holding up will be a big factor regarding attendance.

I think we'll have between 28-31k tickets sold, with about 23-25k there.

If this were on campus on the IM fields there would be 110k there!

I don't know about 30,000 on Labor Day weekend to see the mighty, mighty Phoenix of Elon...

If you figure about 20k in season ticket holders....breaking 30 would require a strong student showing and walkup sales from Bulls fans (Elon isn't going to be bringing in busloads of alumni). Given the buzz surrounding the team..first game of the year...25 k through the gates seems certain....30k seems attainable.

The problem, Blade, is that not every season ticket holder comes to every game... there are a lot of people who have 8 tickets but bring 2 or 4 people through the gates.  So figure, if we have 20,000 season tickets sold, that 2,000+ of them won't make the opening game.

USF might be able to "sell" 30k tickets (as in tickets purchased + student attendance), but I am not sure about getting 30,000 butts in seats.
