USF Merits College Soccer News Top-25 Recruiting Class

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (August 3, 2007) – For the fifth consecutive season, head coach George Kiefer and his staff have landed a nationally lauded recruiting class.  The 2007 University of South Florida men's soccer class has been ranked 24th in the country by College Soccer News.

Following a top-10 class as rated by CSN last year, this season's crop of newcomers include three players from the state of Florida and three international talents with national team experience.

Forward Bernardo Anor is from Caracas, Venezuela, where he has been a member of the U-20 and U-15 National Team. Anor has been a member of several championship teams in Venezuela, including the U-17 Caracas Soccer Club, and the U-18 Federal district team.

Defender Jermaine Hardy is from Portland, Jamaica, and is a junior college transfer from Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Mo.  Hardy is a member of the Jamaican U-20 National Team. 

Midfielder Javed Mohammed is from LaRomain, Trinidad, out of Naparima College.  He has been a member of the U-20 Trinidad and Tobago National Team. 

Goalkeeper Jeffrey Attinella is from Clearwater, Fla., out of Countryside High School where he was an All-State selection. 

Defender Andre Mittoo is from Plantation, Fla., out of American Heritage High School where he was an All-State selection.  Mittoo is a member of the U-18 National Team player pool.

Forward Alejandro Taylor is from Jacksonville, Fla., out of Bishop Kenny High School.  Taylor is an ESP participant and a member of the Region III ODP team.

The Bulls will begin play this year in an exhibition match against the University of Tampa for third annual Rowdies' Cup.  Match date and time are set for Sat., Aug. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the USF Soccer Stadium.
