$49/night La Quinta in FAU

That La Quinta is definitely a nice place. It's also a straight walk down Orioles Blvd to the stadium from there. It's kinda the back way in too, so the traffic isn't as bad. Plus there's lots of restaurants right around the hotel.

T-man's family is now onboard!  44.10 is toooooooo good to pass up... We will be checking in Friday Night, probably later like 10ish...  Plan on leaving hotel Saturday at 12-1 for 3 hour tailgate for 4pm game...  If enough of us stay here we will just convoy the mile and set up camp!

I'm in, 2 nights starting on Friday night.

I used to work one block from this hotel when I lived in Pompano Beach.  Great deal for $49.00 a night!  There's a nice little sushi place and Chinese place within walking distance

From what I remember, yes.  It's really more of a business-district area, with the executive airport right there.  I'm not sure if there are sidewalks along the way to the stadium or not (I never walked it myself)... but from what I read on the FAU website, parking is only $5.00.

And if you don't have a car, it's close enough that one of us could run you down and back.  It's really that close.

Eats - Thanks for the offer. I'm just trying to decide where to stay. Wife's already picked a hotel.

We're just driving down Sat. and back Sunday, so it really doesn't matter to me.

BTW - Google earth doesn't look like sidewalks

Well, I guess availability ran out on this rate because it is now $59/no specials, $53.10/AAA.

Even at $59 per night it is a good deal. Right next to the stadium and ample dining. Also, most Ft. Lauderdale hotels are in the $100 to $150 range. If they are under $100 they tend to be crappy. But this one seems pretty good.
