Talk about speculation!  I didn't even know something like this existed, but here it is!

International Bowl: Big East/Notre Dame vs. MAC

Toronto, Jan. 4

South Florida vs. Toledo

This matchup underscores why the Big East must improve its bowl tie-ins. We're guessing South Florida finishes just outside the Top 25 and wins about eight games this year. That kind of season merits a greater postseason reward than a holiday trip to Toronto to face a team that couldn't even win the Mid-American Conference championship.

Didn't know what existed?  The international bowl?????

My question is, would we be happy with an 8-4 record?  Going to any bowl would be good. However, if we go 8-4 and to the International bowl, with the expectations pretty high going in to the season, 8-4 would be a bit of a let down for me.  it's a decent record, but our expectations have been raised.  raised too high to start the season?

The guy obviously doesn't know what he's talking about...

"The Gator Bowl is under contract to take a Big 12 team instead of a Big East school or Notre Dame two of the next three seasons."

I believe, and I think I'll contact the Gator Bowl committee myself on this, that they have the OPTION of taking a Big 12 team, not the REQUIREMENT to take a Big 12 team.

We have to at least be happy we're predicted to be in a bowl

3 years ago we wouldn't have dreamed this.

That being said, yes, we should go to a better bowl

We will probably (hopefully) pull 1-2 upsets against WVU, UL, RU, and AU

So we'll see.

Go Bulls!

Jim,

The Gator Bowl has to take a Big 12 team 1 year and can up to two over 4 years.

Welcome to the Big Show. Just going to a bowl is nice, however at this point it's ok to be disappointed with the location/matchup...

i think it was cfn that predicted us to return to the pizza bowl again this year against Southern Piss ... a return to Birmingham would suck, but it sure as hell would beat Toronto, and it is early enough to still have time to make other bowl games

I definitely don't see us going to Toronto.  The PapaJohn bowl would be a complete let down.

Meinike was a fun bowl and if we didn't get the BCS bowl game, I'd love to go back to Charlotte.

I can also see us taking a nice trip to the State of Texas.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
