E.T. do you remember that hit Patrick St. Louis put on the cadet at Army in what his freshman year?  It was on a kickoff  return I believe - just nailed the guy.  Made me cringe.  That was big in terms of power and force, but one of my favorite big hits (in terms of importance) was last year when Verpaele hit Slaton at the goal line.

I remember that hit very well.  It absolutely was his freshman year on a kickoff.  We were in about third row and it was fairly close to the goal line on the USF side of the field, almost right in front of the USF fan section.  Was huge and a loud crunch.

Totally 4got about that hit. Thanx !

And that Verpaele hit against Slaton  ;D

And the hit from Reed against Houston and then he picked it(the ball) up and ran for the TD !

Big in terms of sheer power:

Jenkins hit of  Drew Hixon against TTU.

Big in terms of importance:

Selvie's hit, forced fumble, and fumble recovery for a TD against WVU last year.

selvie play was one of the best plays this old f(*k has ever seen

i can watch that replay all day

How about Verpaele's goal line hit vs WVU?

Eats It, Selvie didn't hit White on that same play.  Someone else hit him and Selvie scooped it up.  It might have been Julmiste or Robinson that hit Pat White and caused the fumble.

Yes this was a great stickem hit.  We beat Army 28 - 0 that day and it was Army's worst loss EVER at home - and they have been playing football a long time (worst lost b/c it was shutout and such).

I was working in physical therapy at St. Joes when Drew got hit. He was very messed up. When he left us he still wasn't talking, it was crazy just getting him to sit in a chair. Nothing felt better then to see him walking through those doors when he came to visit. I've seen some athletic injuries but nothing like that. His first treating doctor compared his CT to a car accident.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
