There have been quite a few, but that Jay Mize hit that gave himself a stinger will always be pinned in my head. Don't remember who the team was, during the 1AA years.

i will never forget the hit on that Tennessee Tech reciever. anyone know what happened to him? i remember he was in a coma but improving.

there was a story bout him last year, he is walking around, but talking a little slower and what not, i think he finished college.  but he came back to visit the doctors and nurses who took care of him while he was here.

Yes, you are correct.  He graduated, but never played football again.

I'll never forget the collective "ohhhh!" that came from the crowd when they replayed the hit on the Jumbotron.  They only showed it once.

Camon sure could hit (TTech hit)... but it ended up costing him his life when he died during a hit in an AFL game last year.

I think Burnett had a cast on his hand at one point when he just walloped someone (on a punt coverage maybe?).  Talk about not worrying about your own well being.

  MY friend's wife was one of the nurses that helped him out in the hospital. Apparently he has recovered incredibly well, graduated and became a banker.

  My favorite hit was the one Gachette put on ECwho QB Pinkney in the pizza bowl.  That was a KO!

E.T. do you remember that hit Patrick St. Louis put on the cadet at Army in what his freshman year?  It was on a kickoff  return I believe - just nailed the guy.  Made me cringe.  That was big in terms of power and force, but one of my favorite big hits (in terms of importance) was last year when Verpaele hit Slaton at the goal line.

Selvie's hit, forced fumble, and fumble recovery for a TD against WVU last year.
