I think we will easily have a Top 3 for Openers. Seems that ticket sales have been very good this offseason. Also think there will be a larger number of people traveling West on I-4 from Lakeland this season.

My guess is right around 32k probably. 27k of the "usuals" who would attend the opener regardless....plus an extra 5k who've got wind of excitement surrounding Grothe and Ford, et al

Not that it's a real indication of how many students are going to the game, so far in the facebook event I created there are 973 'confirmed' guests. I've advertised the game to a lot of freshman groups. I just want more students to at least think about football during the offseason, even for the minute they see the event in their inbox.

Is is just me or does there seem to be a lot more people in the area that are sporting USF stuff?? I have been seeing USF stuff from bumper stickers, license plates, shirts, hats, car stickers, car flags more than usual during this summer. To me it is kind of scary because I can remember when you basically had to look long and hard to find anyone sporting USF gear. If seeing all these people with USF stuff is any indication then I can see that we should have good attendence for the ELON game.

Definitely more USF stuff everywhere....it's a rare day that passes I don't see somebody with something USF...that's in Lakeland, not Tampa.  I think the Grothe-Lakeland (specifically Lake Gibson) connection is winning some converts!

Just because people put stickers, license plates, etc. on their cars does not mean that they will support the Athletics teams.

There will be very few students at the Elon game because were playing "Elon". The only games the majority of students are going to attend this year is Louisville, WVU, and Cinci (homecoming). Its very sad.

Maybe a little more than last year. Too many other good games on our schedule, I don't see them coming in droves for Elon.
