Leavitt knows that Ford has work and does not want him to get a big head but focus on the work and the results will come. Typical Leavitt.  You will see Ford in the 3rd quarter of the Elon game.  That is his shot at getting time in the Auburn game as well.

Leavitt likes to keep his guys grounded and the fans as well.  Under prommise and over deliever.  Sales 101

This is just Leavitts way of tuffin' the kid up.  He does this with everybody.  Look at Grothe last season...He was breakin records left and right and then Leavitt would say things like..."he still has lots to learn" and "he's still very young".  Leavitt knows how to train his boys mentally too!  Leavitt doesnt want any HERO's on this team.  I think this is just normal of his coaching techniques.

GO BULLS!!!

heros are good and usf needs a few to compete with rutgers,ul and wv

Is called Build for success.

What does it do for the player who has YET to play a college game to be talked as our starter and savior at RB, other than give him a big head think he has it made. Then he goes out there and its a flop.

There are many HIGHLY ranked players yearly that go to colege and do NOTHING.

So its better to not give him any accolades and let him earn it on the field. Trust me there are many of us fans already stroking Ford's ego that he is the "man", he needs other bringing him back to earth.

Its the coaches job to always remind the players that you have NOT reached your top level yet  that you can and HAVE to get better.

Thats what Leavitt is doing and thats why Grothe our "all star in offense" was NOT taken to Big East media day.

If Ford is the better back than I can't see CJL not playing him in the Elon game.  Bringing in a new back for his first snap ever to the Auburn game, just doesn't seem smart

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
