Found this gem at www.southfloridabulls.com:

I went there with a disposable camera (did not have media pass or digital camera then) and took shots from the stands.  If I can find the rest of the roll, I'll scan 'em and post 'em.  Most I think are like that.  No close-ups since I was in the Sombrero...maybe ...I don't know, I look at them from time to time, I'll see if I can find them.

I think a percentage of fans came to the game as a novelty.  Plus, we just don't have the history that FSU, UF, and Miami in successful seasons.  People like winners why do you think so many toothless people in Florida are fans of UF, because they win and the mascott makes them happy.

i've seen a fair share of toothless bulls fans too i'm afraid.... consequence of location - whatever. If they cheer and show up - i don't care how many teeth they have (or don't have).... ;)

Many of us graduated and moved away =(  (of the 15 or so of us that attended that day only 2 remain in tampa)  I will finally be joining him as season ticket holders this season.

You guys are right...that was a fantastic day/ evening for many of us.

Why?

I recall that Tampa Stadium held more than RayJay.

They decided not to open up end zone seating unless they needed it (which they did during the first game when the student seating overflowed).

I also wish I brought a camera, but I do have the ticket and program - signed.

Novelty, about 25K ? Could be, but why didn't 25K extra novelty seeking fans want to be inside RayJay ? I remember early one I convinced  people to come, mainly because they hadn't seen the new stadium.

What are some other thoughts of where these "fans" went ?

I buy the Novelty of a football game in Tampa after so many years, but we're talking 1AA ... and many Die-Hards here care less about 1AA even today.
