Scheduling Non-BCS Teams

We should be able to get some 2 for 1s with certain MAC teams, the higher up the ladder the harder it will be to nail that down. Several MAC schools have been able to force BCS teams into playing 1 and 1s. Further, the MAC and WAC have worked out several deals to get games between their schools. (Fresno/Toledo; Miami/Boise St)

Cincinnati just signed a 1 and 1 with Fresno State and are in talks to extend their series with Marshall for another 2 games.

I cannot see us going out west just yet for a game unless extremely necessary. Just too much of a cost.

I wonder if 2-1 are possible with MAC teams?

Doubtful, especially since USF cancelled the return home-home game with Bowling Green..after the first game was played in Tampa several years ago.

I would be okay with 1 for 1's with any of the non-Texas area CUSA teams, including the Golden Goobers.  I just don't want to play one team EVERY year.  Memphis, UAB, USM, Tulane, ECU, Navy, Army, La Tech would be good ones.  Since we are recruiting southern Alabama, I might even consider a 1 for 1 with Troy even though they are a Sun Belt school.  They have much more attendance 'pop' both at home and on the road than FIU and FAU.  We have tons of scheduling options. 

I still would like to see a series with more B10 teams like Illinois, Northwestern, and Minn and some B12s like Missouri, Okla St., Tex Tech, Baylor (no chickening out this time), and Kansas State.  It should be interesting to see how future schedules shape up.  It is partly our responsibility in that we need to increase attendance at our own home games no matter what time they are scheduled for, no matter if they are being televised, no matter if they get switched to Thurs, Fri or Sunday.  The bigger and better we attend games and travel to away games, the better deals our AD can make for our future schedules.
