You can perhaps imagine my surprise when this very generous donor and volunteer told me today his name was being bandied about as the financeer of a new baseball stadium.  Please, if we can't refrain from idle gossip, at least have the respect not to attach donors' names to it?  I can't count the number of inaccuracies in these posts.  It's a good thing he has a sense of humor.

No.  You are likely referring to the Morsani $3M.  This will mostly go towards the new football practice fields, and to a lesser degree the new softball stadium, which the practice fields will displace.

Word is Eriksen has been a bit disheartened by the lack of community interest in supporting his program, which is a shame as nobody bleeds Green & Gold anymore than he, not to mention he has arguably the most successful Bulls athletic program.

I just hope that DW holds firm that there will be no new baseball stadium before a new softball stadium.  Won't be easy, but DW is good at doing the right thing even when it isn't easy.

I've always been told that the venues will be built in the order they're paid for, with the understanding that they're working hard to build all of them as soon as possible. Are you saying that if I go to USF tomorrow with a check for $10-million for a baseball stadium, it's on the back burner until softball gets its stadium built?
