With the 4th of July bringing free info on scout, I came across this encouraging tidbit.

Armando Sanchez interview.

USFN: What is your favorite thing to do on the field?

Sanchez: I like to hurt people. I know it may sound bad, but I like to hit people. I like to lift weights all summer and get as strong as I can, go out there and show everybody.  Not necessarily big hits all the time but consistently making the tackle    (Awesome)

USFN: How are your grades, how are you toward qualifying.

Sanchez:  I got a 3.9 GPA, and haven’t taken the placement test since my freshmen summer. I got a 880 Sat, and a 18 on my ACT. I’d probably do a lot better now.    (He will qualify, double yes)

USFN: Are you going to take any other visits?

Sanchez: No, I don’t plan on it.

USFN: How committed to USF are you?

Sanchez: 100 percent!

I love the commit, but 3.9 GPA and an 880 and 18 on SAT? Pretty broad range.

So he has a 3.9 GPA as a senior and had a 880 SAT as a freshman.  Come on you wouldn't have gotten the 1200 as a freshman.  If he truely has the 3.9 his SAT will come out no problem.

He sounds like an exceptional student.  Most kids don't take the SAT unti at least their JR year.  I don't know many kids (if any) that take it it in their freshman year.

He also sounds like a highly motivated athlete.  Looks like a great pickup for us.
