He was deciding between Cincy and U Conn.    U Conn was considered the favorite since it is closer to home.   It is not a surprise he is going there.   

From my perspective there are no pushovers in the Big East.   The Orange are the only ones that have yet to beat us and with their history I wouldn't count on maintaining that status forever.

What great things have they accomplished on the gridiron since 1959?

gone to 19 bowl games, have 30 active NFL players, finished in the top 10 of the polls twice (1987 and 1991), dozens of all-americans, had the first black heisman trophy winner, and one heisman trophy runner up.

syracuse traditionally has a very strong program that occaisionally makes noise nationally without much of a local recruiting base.
