Anyone know anything about the new players?

2007 USF Men’s Soccer Newcomers

Bernardo Anor                F            Caracas, Venezuela (San Ignacio of Loyola)

Jeffrey Attinella              GK          Clearwater, Fla. (Countryside High School)

Jermaine Hardy              D            Portland, Jamaica (Jefferson College)

Andre Mittoo                  D            Plantation, Fla. (American Heritage High School)

Javed Mohammed          MF          LaRomain, Trinidad (Naparima College)

Alejandro Taylor            F              Jacksonville, Fla. (Bishop Kenny)

Any chance for another televised game like last year? I haven't heard/read anything about it.

Seems like these guys have amazing experience and could become immediate impact players.

We should be a force to be reckoned with over the next few years

Several of the players have International experience playing for their respective countries national teams.  I agree they will be impact players right from the start.

Maybe so, but will they boost attendance.  There seems to be little interest in soccer at USF.

The attendance at soccer was much higher than in previous years and even broke the single game attendance record with over 2100 fans in attendance.  The team has recruited very well in past few years and has the talent to do well every year.  Although last years team didn't meet expectations, I believe that this years team can make a run.

Former USF soccer player Anthony Wallace started for the Under 20 World Cup US team that beat Poland 6-1 a couple of days ago.  This tournament has been featured exclusively on ESPNU all week.  Wallace had an assist on one of the goals.

Friday night the US play Brazil at 7:45.  Hopefully Wallace will get another start.  And hopefully Freddy Adu will score another hat trick!

Congrats Anthony!

Nice Picture, makes you want to go to Brazil.  If the US Under 20 Men's team ties or beats Brazil we will win the group and not have to play Argentina the second round.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
