I have to be a little biased when I say Grothe is the best.

Tebow has to show that he can do it on his own without Leak there.  The other QB's haven't shown anything, yet.

GrothE is certainly the most proven quaterback right now.

Tebow's gimmick wont work for 60 mins.  He's gunna actually have to take snaps and drop back, which he hasn't done very much.

As for FSU's fiasco at QB, well that's just what it is.  I think Xavier Lee should start, but who really cares.

UM, their QB is a little raw too.

UCF... lol... UCF

So, as of this moment USF has the best proven QB, but UF has potential.  I still think GrothE will be better, but only time will tell.

Based on what has been shown on the field it is Grothe.

Tebow is a physical speciman, no doubt, but let's see what happens when he is called on to make plays on a consistent basis under every situation and not just 3rd and 2.  How does he react when it's 3rd and 8 on his own 5 yard line and the other team is in an all out blitz.  Gaining 2 yards on the ground doesn't cut it then.  The jury is still out on Tebow until he proves he can do it on a consistent basis up and down the field.

Tebow is a one-trick pony.

Right now it's Grothe, mostly because he's the most proven. The guy carried our team last year and while I think he won't rush as much he'll still be the dual threat he was last year.

Kyle Wright has a lot of potential and I believe could have a huge year with the new offensive coordinator in Miami.

The FSU situation is a bit wierd, I am not sure who will be QB, but it there is one thing Jimbo Fisher can do it's develop QBs. I think Weatherford is better fit for Jimbo's offense, drop back slinger who is a pretty accurate passer, just needs to make better decisions (ex: he loves to throw into double coverage). I don't expect the terrible QB play that has plaugued FSU since 2002 to continue; be it Lee or Weatherford.

As for Tebow, anyone who calls him one dimensional hasn't seen the kid play. Not sure if he'll translate in the college game perfectly, but the guy broke the state passing record his senior year of high school (which was broken by Marve last year), so he can throw it around. The reason he wasn't passing is because they had an All American QB who was the catalyst for their national title.

Its a hard season to judge FL QBs, but in the preseason it's not silly to say Grothe #1

This is sort of an unknown in my opinion, and not as easy of an answer.... I think he's better then wright thus far, altho wright does have all the talent in the world and very well could explode this year... Tebow, has the potential to be great, but like people staited above we have not seen enough... Now FSU.... Yes last yr weatherford did go thru a sophomore slump, but I think people seem to have forgotten that he led them to an ACC title as a Red shirt freshman, and in the orange bowl almost beat a Penn State team that was one play away from being undefeated... If grothe has another year like last yr, he will be without a doubt the best, but i really think this judgment is far to premature...

After this year, it won't be a debate. Grothe by far since last year he played the most and was most effective than any other guy on that list.

The State List is

Grothe

.

Tebow

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

The rest

From what ive herad from my friends that are Gator fans Tebow lit it up in the spring game and looked very impressive throwing the ball.  And of course Grothe is the most proven and should continue to mature if all goes according to plan.  I really think the QB rankings could stay this way for the next 3 years only changes could be that Grothe and Tebow may trade spots back and forth.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
