Guys they make this list very large, with a diverse amount of schools for one reason. To promote the freaking award. They know that every school will throw a press release out saying "________ On Maxwell Award List"

I'm glad Grothe has made this list, but I also know that they just pick out 60+ guys who had an impact on offense in a positive way...In fact Brian Johnson of Utah made the list. What did Brian Johnson do last year? Oh Ya. Not play because of major reconstrcutive knee surgery.

Get back to me when they trim this list midseason.

Who cares if you're a true frosh or not... Tebow came in the games he played in and was totally one dimensional. He was Brian Fisher on steroids.

He threw maybe twice last season when teams geared up against the run... hell... who couldn't hit the homerun ball in that scenario. I will enjoy watching Tebow get pounded as a full time starter this season. Maxwell List... what a crock of crap!

He can't hide behind Chris Leak now...

And you would be a numnuts to thinks Grothe couldn't have been competitive his true frosh year. The kid can compete. He may not be the prototypical QB out on the field... but he is a field general. Let's see if Tebow comes close to touching Grothe's numbers this season from last year.

And furthermore... Tebow will be carried out on a stretcher before it's all said and done. He will get lit up by a Mike who thinks he's showboating too much.

Reality is not wearing green and gold glasses right now. Reality is #8.

After Grothe wins the Heisman in 2009 he may as well run for President in 2012!

In all honesty, Timmy Tebow should be suspended by the NCAA for that extremly pansy-like jump pass against LSU. He made the sport of football look like the ballet.

Did our previous guys on the Maxwell Award List make it to the second cut?

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
