We pretty much return the D intact. The major losses were both OLB's, top candidates are:

Mompremier (Top BackUp at USF)

Robinson (Lead team in Sacks in 2006)

Spires (JuCo All-American in 2006)

McKenzie (Big 12 All-American in 2006)

Also, depth at Safety is a concern with Verpaele gone for the season, but feel great with Allen & Gachette.

Expecting a Top 10 Scoring Defense in 2007.

We haven't had a Shut-Out since 2003 @ Army and haven't had one at Home since 2000 against Austin Peay (59-0), when Martin G. had "THE KICK" at the end of the game. We also Shut-Out our opener that season, Jacksonville St. 40-0.

our D will certainly reign in the BE.  Nationally; some D's are better but USF will fall in top 20 and will be recoginized each time we are televised on National Airways.
