"Our Shirt"

After talking to some people this week, Our Shirt is getting used in a way that I find inappropriate. Some of the people who are heading the project are Greek, so I guess that's given the Greek society the idea to use the Our Shirt as a way to promote rushing this fall. I just can't believe that something that was suppposed to be used as a way to unite the school, is starting to be used as plublicity stunt by the Greeks.

This is horrible.  Nothing against Greeks (I'm friends with some) but it looks like a sparse few feel inclined to take it upon themselves.  This was meant to unite the whole USF community to back the Bulls, not to drum up interest in an organization.

I agree with Seabull, I don't understand the problem here. Is it the actual facebook group that's the problem? Or was that just an example of what you were speaking of?

As far as the group is concerned, I actually joined that group last week when there were only like 5 members, and I never got the impression that it was for anything other than spreading the word about the shirts.

Looks like the posts and stuff have been deleted from that group.

I guess they got the message when several people complained. Just drop it and move on.

the people who are moderators of the group are only promoting the shirt, a member of the group made a thread in the discussion section about sorority recruitment.  this whole hatred for the greeks needs to stop.

Like stated, most posts have been deleted, including one by a mod promoting rushing. Let's just drop it now that it has been corrected.

BTW- i think these shirts are a great idea.. i think USF is long over due for this kind of movement.. we gotta make this an annual tradition, with something new every year.. i know at boston college, they have "superfans" shirts, and every year has a new slogan on the back.. and they give shirts to freshman, so depending on the year you came in, you (and everyone that started when you did) have your own unique saying on the back.. kinda cool
