I don't know how all of you would feel about this, but what if USF charged a $10 per ticket "Bowl Game Deposit" on each season ticket sold? Then, when it came time to sell the bowl tickets, you would be able to apply those credits to each ticket. For those not buying any bowl tickets or buying less than their season ticket allotment, the University could use that money to buy tickets for students/charities and help increase our bowl ticket sales. This would also "force" season ticket holders to buy their bowl game tickets through USF, helping to increase our numbers. At $10.00 per ticket it would work out to between $170,000 and $180,000. Considering that we had about 5,000 fans at the last bowl game, the deposit system would generate approximately $120,000 to $130,000 in additional bowl ticket sales. At $35 per ticket that would result in roughly 3,500 additional bowl tickets sold. What do you guys think?

Cincy makes season ticket holders at certain levels pay a $50 ticket deposit.  I definitely believe we should look into something like this.  It allows us to say to bowl committees that we have already got committments in excess of $10K+.

I think $50 is a little steep and may drive some casual fans away. However, $10 is doable for all season tickets, and maybe you charge $20 or $25 to Green Jacket ($1,000) or higher levels. And, in the unlikely event the Bulls don't make a Bowl Game, USF could simply "roll" the money over to the next year, thus reducing the amount we would have to pay at that time for Bowl Game tickets.

I think we should start giving away tickets to local high school football teams and coaches.  Not sure if this would be considered some kind of NCAA rules violation, but it could certainly help recruitment.  We have the availible seats (3rd level), and they are people who like football.

It's win win. SO, think about it.

As a side note and easy way to pitch the idea to the glazers would be that with all the added people it's all profit to them. USF doesn't get a cut on refreshments so the added people buying food and such would only increase thier revenue.  USF wouldn't make any money on the deal, but it'd help get fans for the future. It's an investment for the future in many regaurds.

I have been an advocate for sometime for deeply discounted or free tickets to ALL high school students. By doing this, you eliminate the issue any potential impropriety in recruiting. I think kids would love to have a place to go and hang on Saturday Evenings with their friends. Lets make USF games the place to be on Saturday nights in Tampa and make the kids USF fans now before the "Dirty 3" can fully sink their claws into them. If we get 'em young, we will have them hooked for the rest of their lives (just like the tobacco comapnies do).

Note: UC has the 2nd lowest priced football tickets in the Big East, even with a pre-paid Bowl Tix:

Bottom line...UC is basically offering a FREE bowl tix to any reserved qualifying season tix holder...and even if those fans don't travel to the Bowl Game...UC can still count those tix as "tix SOLD!"

I'm sorry, there must be something wrong with my computer. It doesn't properly display the posts from fans of the school that is most envious of our team and can't even win against our sloppy seconds (C-DOA).

How does UCF determine the number of bowl tickets sold?  Was that how you did it last year?

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
