This is not directed at Voss, but I'd rather have a guy at QB with great understanding of the game and decision making ability than great athleticism.  If you have both like Grothe then that is a bonus.  Hopefully Voss will show us he has both one day.

Voss only threw for 1,000 some yards last year in high school.. based on the numbers, he just wasn't in a passing system, so as far as i'm concerned, he hasn't quite proven himself as a passer at that level.  I think the same knock came with pat julmiste coming from a running-based system in high school, and we all know how that translated to in college.

question is: what does USF expect from its passers? Voss wont give us the passing stability, but he may turn into a Pat White.. if that is so, are we going to turn into WVU offensively with Voss at QB?

I think some are getting carried away . . . and this coming from me ?!?  :o LOL  ;D

Voss has great size and has shown he's a Top athlete . . . and he will be RS'd in 2007.

Some of this talk should be directed to Ford, Samuels & Plancher ... a position that NEEDS upgrading.

Go BULLS !!!

Not trying to call anyone dumb or anything, but if you're struggling to make grades in a public High school in Florida

what other conclusions can you jump too other than that person being well how do you put this...dumb!

I'm sure he is a great athlete, but being a great athlete doesn't necessarily correlate with intelligence.

So, if you want to defend the kid thats fine, but the bottom line is if your struggling to get C's in High School there is something to say about your mental accumen or lack thereof.

Let's see... We've got a kid that's 6'2" or more, 225lbs. or more, knows that a redshirt year gives him the best chance of playing the position he wants, took a couple of CLASSES that were questionable, runs 4.6 or so, WILL get bigger and stronger before he ever sees the field on Saturday and WANTS to learn.

Oh yea, and Leavitt thinks he can handle the job.

Oh Lord, don't waste a scholly on him!

GO BULLS!

Excellent ... and he'll most likely would RS in 2007 also. And he could be a WR or Safety. I think he will have 2 years remaining.

2008 will have some serious talent.

Go BULLS !!!

The crowned messiah of USF football, Marquel Blackwell, was once a partial qualifier.  For being, well 'dumb' he seemed to manage to accomplish a few things on the field for us.  I think Voss will be just fine, but the labels are always a nice way for a kid to start a career.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
