You have a strange view of what "crapping all over" someone's opinion is.  IMO the poster's (Ari) views are every bit as much in the realm of possibilities as Greg Aumen's are.  Hell at this point none of the teams has even boarded the bus yet.

I would say 6-6 or 5-7 as just as likely as 12-0 or 11-1

Greg is playing it safe, predicting 3rd (so if they finish 2nd or 1st he can say I had them top 3 at the onset). 

The total package this year puts USF at 1st - next will be WVA, L'Ville, Rutgers, Syracuse, Cincy, Uconn, and then Pitt

Greg's predictions is pretty much what every reporter outside of USF is predicting the Big east to look like.  He is thinking outside the box, thats why he has his job and super fans do not. 

the question is what usf team shows up for each game.  We all know we have watched and been at games where we look like we can not move the ball at all, even vs. weaker competition. 

We also know we improve vastly each season and the average fan outside of usf does not know that.  Though, im not crazy and as optimistic as some on this board who predict national championships, i do think the stan heath nickname for the basketball team applies 10 times more with our football team, sleeping giants.   

I also think leavitt is improving every year as our coach.  and look to see him have our guys game ready in minute 1 of games next year instead of at the start of the 2nd half.

THAT will be the key to having a super season, IMO.  No more come-from-behind shenanigans, just go out & play!!!
