Trae was covering Andre Allison from ECU, their best receiver (also drafted in the NFL I believe).

The reasoning you would but your second best guy on a reciever that will catch balls even if you had both Mike and Trae on him is b/c of just that reason. Mike will completely shut down there #2 reciever and trae will manage just as well as mike on such a player.

Now your saftey can cheat towards Trae's side a bit more with Mike covering the slower/shorter recievers.

uhhhh you do know that Mike is #4 and Trae is #21 right?  Jenkins was the one applying the vice grips to Allison.

The only times that Mike was beat was some questionable PI calls that could have just as well be offensive

Great recognition for Mike, he should be our highest pick to date if he continues his great play.

Edit: Mike is still 17th on Mel's big board (top 25 overall prospects) which hasn't been revised since after the Auburn game.

While Mike does have sick "measurables"  He did (last year) seem to bite alot on stop and go type of routes.  I would like to find out how many pass interference calls he had last year.  It sure seemed like a lot.

UNC is averaging 300 yards a game passing and they have 9TD passes already in 3 games.  This game should be a good statement game for our corners.

To answer the original question about the lists. I think Mel has a separate list for "defensive back" for prospects who could play either cornerback or safety in the NFL. Guys on the "cornerback" list are only prospects at that position.

Example: Anthony Henry would have gone on the "defensive back" list.

he only uses the DB catagory before the season starts.  As you can see in his most current list (a few posts up) he does break it up into safeties and corners.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
