Two of the 3 cars in our house got hit by some branches and have dents on them.  My car was the only one not hit.  I hate having a huge tree in front of the house.

As to hurricane parties, people throw them alot.  But people only throw them when it's something not threatening.  They get pretty serious when it comes down to the real thing.

Oh, and I've been in FL for 6 yrs now after living in the Bronx.  I haven't seen a real hurricane yet, and I hope I never have to.

Yes, summer weather is a very serious item in Florida.  That being said, please also realize that we need the rain desperately.

If the rain we have had thus far helps just a bit with the wildfires then it is worth it.  Do we have to worry about our homes and property, of course we do.

To be able to laugh about "hurricanes" the weather or Miami type is a good thing.

20 years in Florida. The closest I've ever come was when Charly came across, and what was left as a depression. So I've never been in a hurricane, just a couple of brushes.

I have no problem with the topic of the thread started by Outrunner or jokes about the UM Canes.

During charley I watched as a big oak branch fell on my neighbors roof and cave it in. that is the real danger in Tropical storms, it does not take a lot of wind to knock a big branch down onto someones house, just a steady wind and a sick branch.

Almost all of southern California’s rain falls during. the winter rainy season, which typically ... tant cause of landslides in southern California.
