I really thought he "got it" after the suspension last year. It looked like being on the sideline killed him every game, especially during the game against Rutgers. And Chambers/Ponton looked like they didnt care when they were suspended. But just a great oppurtunity gone to waste. If we could combine Pat's leadership/teammate ability with Josh's natural talent, we'd have one hell of a Julmiste. lol

Yea it would been great to have JJ, but based on my observations, he hung out with the wrong crowd. It goes back to that saying"you lay with dogs, you're bound to have fleas. Unfortunately, JJ would show up at certain courts in Wesley Chapel thoughout the football season to play basketball. I truly feel the company(these guys had no affiliation with USF) he kept attributed to his 2006 6-game suspension. I don't care how talented you are. If you lack dedication, effort, and discipline,  that talent will not translate on the field.

Hard to argue with that assessment.

Josh had great POTENTIAL.  He showed brief flashes of that from time to time, but if you think about the 1.5 seasons he played, how many plays was he really in on?  A handful.  Only a handful.  Nobody would argue his potential.  But I would definitely argue his game production.

Based on that, I'll vote for Rico Martinez for the #91.  I have no idea who he is, but I can almost guarantee you he relished his opportunity and got more out of his God-given ability than J.J.

JJ was in more than just a handful ... he was in a handful just in the WVU game alone.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
