why is verpale gone?  ponton was garbage after his suspension.

At this point, losing Ponton is the biggest loss.  Other than Ben Williams, we don't have a RB with any playing experience.  That's not making me feel real confident. You can say what you want about Ford's potential, but if he gets hurt, even for a few games, not having a proven running back is a deep cause for concern.  Williams is not a difference making RB.

Anyone know if they are talking to any JUCO trnasfers at either RB or a backup QB?

One thing about the roster.  Even though we have lost a few players over the last couple of years (as do all schools), we still are getting better but are still really young.  On offense, the only starting SRs are Walker and Jackson.  We are still pretty young on D also.  We are looking real strong for this year, but even stronger and more experienced for the next few years as well.

Plancher may well become a game breaking back.  Samuals isn't awful from what I hear either.  While williams is the only one with playing experience, there should be enough depth there that somone can emerge as a big-play guy, or at very least a guy that can get you 4-5 yards most of the time.

Many coaches had Plancher up there with Hall, reason for the RS in 2005. Hope he heals 100% ... and from what I saw from Samuels in 2006 practice, feel good. And hear nothing but good about Ford and he looks to be in greater shape each month.

I think DV is the biggest loss by a large margin, having Gachette and Allen back there should help with the loss.
