According to info Brett published awhile back the Florida buyout to 250K

I hope the attachment works.

Plus, the non-university attending fans in Gainsville have nothing else to do but go to those games.

Like Jim said, you are. More than 50% of the fans at Gator games come from Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville.

50k seemed WAY too low for a buyout of a school like Florida, much less any school.  However, I had no proof so I didn't argue.

If it were 50k we would have bought it out by now because it might worth it. However, at 250k we're playing that game. Thats some serious coin for us.

I think we will keep the UF game for a couple of reasons.  They have  been very flexible with us moving their games,  we have always had a good relationship with the school's AD and staff,  and finally if we hope to eventually get a home game out of them canceling would not be good.

Out of all the Florida schools FSU hates us and flat refuses to ever play us again in any sport (the B-ball tourney is a fluke).  They feel they have to much to loose.

Brad, the Future Schedules link shows the conference games at home with an "at" before them, making them look like away games.  Can that be tweaked?

Thanks!

Done.  Thank you for pointing out that error.

I didn't see it mentioned through this thread (though it probably is)... don't we still owe C-USA a game in 2009?  How does that contract work, could they force us to go to UCF, in which case USF would probably agree to one more 1 - 1?

If we have to play UCF one more time, I think we should make the contract interesting.  UCF doesn't want a 2 - 1 and USF doesn't want a 1 - 1.  Make it a 2 - 1 that automatically becomes a 2 - 2 IF UCF can win say 1 game, maybe 2 since they are getting like 7 tries under this scenario.

Hey Brad, you also have dates for the last 4 Miami games as they will be Thanksgiving Saturday (instead of TBD).  Thanks for all the great work.

I think the CUSA let us out of this game.

One of the reasons UF is reluctant to play in Tampa is that they can put 90,000 in the stands for every game in Gville. UM on the other hand generally does not have great attendance so a home and away with USF makes more sense, particularly because it is close enough for alumni from both schools to attend the away game. UM-USF just makes more sense in every respect.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
