Snellgrove and McKenzie are the only names I recognize, but sadly can't remember their contribution(s). Any takers?

Trivia..?  Maybe.   I think Snellgrove was our first non-Florida recruit, but I could be wrong.  I'll have to look that up.

Snellgrove was signed as a tight end out of Dothan, AL.  He bulked up and was moved to OT.  He played quite a bit in the one season and then they found a compressed vertebra in his spine and he had to quit football.  Howard Campbell is also an early out-of-state recruit.  He is from Irwin County (GA) HS.  He played a little at DT.

Jim:

You may be right, but we had a walk on OG from New Jersey who played about the same time.  His name was Sean Cassese (or something like that...I'm too lazy to look up the proper spelling).  He started at guard around the same time as Snellgrove.

I remember Snellgrove too.  He was definitely one of the earlier recruits from out of state.  Wow, no dominant #92.  Hard to believe.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
