Even name schools get shafted often because CFB lacks playoffs.  Undefeated Auburn had every bit as much right to a title as undefeated USC.  That's just how the craptastic system is though...they'll just pretend they "knew" one team was better than the other...just like how we "knew" 2002 miami was better than 2002 OSU before the game was played.

If you want every team to have a fair shot, there's no way around a playoff.  There is too much bias and too many teams to keep accurate tabs on otherwise.  The only other possibility is a perfect computer model, but thats a theoretical thing and there will never be consensus as to what perfect inputs would be.  Playoffs needed, it doesn't matter what's best for one school.  Playoffs are a need in CFB.

I think the BCS is the best for USF.

I would like to see a 4 team playoff, they already have added the 5th BCS game.  Match up the top 4 ranked BCS teams in 2 of the BCS games and the winners meet in the championship game.  Maybe even play the semis and the championship game in the same stadium, so that fans could plan a week vacation at the same place, so no additional travel is necessary.  This keeps the other bowl games in place.

People can moan all they want that most of the bowls are meaningless, but the benefits to a team are great.  A benefit of making a bowl game is the extra month of practice time a team gets.  Also players want to go away to bowls games, so it helps recruiting if you play in bowl games every year.  Boosters stay excited about the teams and donate more money.

Just my .02

The biggest Con to the proposed format is that there will be NO differentiating of teh conferences all ELEVEN conferences will have equal basis of getting to the playoffs.

This would kick off another round of conference shuffles.  There are schools that would move to weaker conferences with the anticipation of being able to make the playoffs every season.

The BCS is by far what is best for USF in the short run.

Playoffs "may" be best for D1A in the long run.

By creating a full fledged playoff, including all 11 conferences, you are leveling the playing field between the BCS teams and non BCS teams.  You are decreasing the leverage, recruiting benefits, etc, that a USF has over the UCFs of the world.  Now they can say they have just a good a shot as BCS teams of winning NC.  You are taking away the reason USF joined the BE to begin with.  If this were the way to go, we might have well just stayed in CDOA, because we would have had just a good a shot of making playoffs.  There are so many benefits, monetarily, recruiting, and otherwise to the BCS, do you just want to throw all those away and be on the same level as non BCS schools?

My opinion is the best way to go is retain the BCS bowls and auto bids by the 6 BCS conference.  Retain the bowl system.  Keep the little guys down.  But, create a 4 team mini playoff using 2 of the BCS bowls.  Seed them 1-4.  Have the 2 winners play in the NC game.  rotate the 2 playoff games between the bcs bowls.  Nothing would really need to change.  This is what would benefit USF the most - create a mini playoff AND retain auto access to the BCS.  You could even go so far as use 4 BCS bowls to create an 8 game playoff, but leave the bowls and BCS intact.

Gaining access to the BCS was the whole reason we left CDOA, let's not forget that.

Playoff!  D1-AA has been using it forever.  Every playoff game has the " Bowl Game" atmosphere, and the winner is decisive.

BCS... USF needs BCS right NOW.

Once we're established... then bring the playoffs.

BTW, I don't see the BCS going away.

End of discussion  ;)

The BCS in its current form maybe go away but the bowl system as a whole is not going anyware. Too long of a history and too many schools making money on it allowing them to build a program

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
