Well, it's been a little over a month since the Spring Game and we've had time to reflect.

Has your thoughts changed regarding your expectations for the 2007 season ?

It solidified them for me. Really Excited !

Go BULLS !!!  :GoBulls

If Mike Ford can consistently perform like he did on the one drive that he had most of yards, then the running game will be vastly improved. I know it was just one drive, but his running on that drive was impressive to say the least. Especially trucking Louis Gachette at the end of the longest run down inside the 5

And after about 5 more months of getting into football shape, has to make one feel more confident about Ford.

I feel real good about our Backs.

Hope Plancher is feeling good.

Go BULLS !!!

Yes, this is the ONE season I am definitely NOT worried about our backs.

In regard to our backs...

It is nice to have depth.  However, what I'm hoping for is one guy to be THE guy.  There is an awful lot to be said for allowing one RB to get into the flow of a game.

Sure, there should be enough carries for a couple of other guys to get a few touches every game, but remember how Andre Hall seemed to get better and better as the game went on??

That's what I'm talking about.  And if Mike Ford doesn't become that guy at some point this year (hopefully at the beginning), I think that will hurt us.

My opinion.

Well, of course it's always better to have ONE GUY to be the "guy" (a la Matt Grothe), but since we can't see that yet, we cannot rely on that...

Carlton Mitchell had a few good catches in the game. I'm really looking foward to seeing him at WR.

My Thoughts:

-I know the o-line was beat up but they still need to show vast improvement for us to make the leap into a legitimate top 25 team and BE championship contender

-Ford showe flashes of what he can be for us now lets just hope he keeps working hard over the summer and can come in and be our guy at RB

-We are sickly deep at WR but someone still needs to step up and be the true #1.  Its great we can spread the ball around but having a true #1 that teams have to focus on locking down will really benefit the offense as a whole.

-Grothe looked 100% and should be ready for another great year.  Hope he improves on his td:int ratio.

-Selvie is a beast

I agree with Dozer our O-Line really is going to have to man up this year especially with the loss of their coach.  If they can perform at a C+ clip the majority of the year I really do like our chances in the Big East this year.  Having both WV and Louisville in our house will be huge.  To be honest that last game of the year on the road at Pitt scares the hell out of me.  I know our squad is much stronger than theirs, but something about that game does not sit well with me.  I also think our Defense is going to be the best in the history of the program.  The loss of the snake and St. Louis will hurt as will the dismissal of #3’s little brother, but our D-line is one of the deepest in the country, and I truly believe Selvie is setting himself up to be the Bulls first 1st round pick, he is unblockable nearly every down he is on the field.  I also love the addition of McKenzie he is a proven starter in a major conference, on a D with less talent than the one he is now playing with.  I am not as concerned as most with finding a single back to carry the load.  Our running game will be much improved regardless who ends up with the bulk of the carries; although like most I am hopeful big # 26 turns out to be that man.  I think more than one game will be won or lost on the leg of Alvarado.  Seriously June just means we are 3 months from kickoff and frankly I am ready to go right now.

There is no or very little statistical correlation between having one rusher gain a lot of yards and wins in college football.  What matters is that the aggregate ypc is at least decent, and the backs don't fumble.
