Mr Searcy now plays on the Gulf Coast Eagles/Raiders in the SSFL with a couple of other Bulls

And still wears the #97.

I remember the excitement with Searcy coming JuCo for DT ... then he was tried on the O-Line ... oh well.

Remember Johnson, he was like 25 years old and former military ... good solid player.

Johnson was the guy I was referring to, they either called him Sarge or Grandpa, something like that.    :D  I think he was former marines and probably the only player ever to be older than our beloved Sheriff.  As I recall, his late start in football after the military was further delayed after a serious leg injury.  I'd have more facts if I weren't too lazy to dig out my media guides from back then.  I guess I better get them out.

Uncle Ron is what we called him... that dude was awesome... he was a machine gunner in the military... we got along pretty well as we were both older dudes on the squad. He was always real supportive of the younger cats out there and a team favorite. His boy he ran with was Tavares Jurineack if I recall correctly.
