that is perfectly ok.  We have done well with the Pearl River pipeline.  Hopefully this one works out well too.

Speak for yourself.

We've had too much of this here over the past couple of years.

This guy looked to be a good player, now he's lost for probably two seasons.

Additionally, there is always a significant chance that signees who have to go the JuCo route go somewhere else.  Ask the Crimson Tide about one Mr. Mike Ford.

You said he looks to be a good player so what was the harm in signing him? The chances of us getting this good player in two years are greater now than if we hadn't signed him ....

First off this was a guy that if he had the grades more than probably would had been outside USF's grasp. By offering a scholarship you develop ties with him and hopefully he stays commited and goes to USF after JC. So in reality USF loses nothing by offering him.

Hopefully he gets his AA and returns.

Someone help me out.

I know this upcoming year we will have Spires and C Hill coming in after playing at Pearl River.  Any notable names from the past that we sent up there and came back to play?

USF NEEDS  to recruit players that can play now

When the NCAA limit is 25 and we sign 27 players it is fairly easy to figure out that this was probably expected.

I really don't think he was expected to be an impact player this year to begin with.  I'm not too concerned with development.

Hopefully we can keep him after he qualifies.

Everyone loses 1-3 recruits as non-qualifiers almost every year.

Short term plans that have worked so far:

Andre Hall - 2 years

Ean Randolph - 1 year

KB, USF signed linebacker Gene Coleman and defensive lineman Frank Harry from Pearl River, but Coleman never qualified and Harry didn't make it through the spring semester before getting homesick. As much as we've written about Pearl River, it hasn't had a successful signing with USF since I've been on the beat ...

Guys, this is not a good thing. We may of had OUR best recruiting class to date but compared to others it was average...at best.

These are the type of players you can not lose, this happens to often. Are we becoming a dumping ground for kids that can't make grades? I'd like to think, "not the case" but...
