THE BULL (NUMBER 8)

No song fires up the Bulls faithful like the Herd of Thunder's biggest hit to date.  Heavy on trumpets and a constant drum beat that gets faster every time it's repeated, the song became a fan favorite when introduced by the band in 2003, but simply didn't have a name.  It was known only by the number it was in the Herd of Thunder's playbook, so fans would often shout to the band "Play #8!!" whenever the crowd needed to be encouraged to make some noise.  The name stuck, and is still known to many fans as #8.  Someone eventually figured out [highlight]the original name was "The Spaniard,"[/highlight] but by that time the band took to calling it "The Bull."  

True Bulls immediately put up the Sign of the Bull and whip it around over their heads like a lasso to the rhythm of the drums whenever it's heard.  

And within the last few years we have phased in the "Miura Breed" of BULL and phased out the "Brahma Breed".

We have used "The Running of the BULLS" since we started football.

The Pamplona reference is natural and if you are not aware of the reference, you don't follow USF Football ... but I am here to "learn you"  8-)

And it seems we have a large donor that will be running with the BULLS in Pamplona this July (777) - I'll get him a "Tamplona" shirt and I am sure he'll wear it during the run ... will work on it.

The Spaniard has nothing to do with Pamplona, other than the fact it is in spain.

A nickname will come naturally, and when it happens, everyone will know it.

nicknames are not forced, when it happens EVERYONE will know it and EVERYONE will be on boad.

Sorry, a lot of people do not like pamplona, no one outside of those on this board would make a connection usf, imo.
