UM fans will change thier minds by 09 on this series, imo.  Even though we won't beat them unitl 09.

Why, you ask.

Because in 07 and 08, if we play to our potential, we will already have 2 more potential 9-11 win seasons, a possible BCS bowl under our belt (hopefully), and will be looked upon in an entirely different light by not only UM fans but the entire country.

IF we play up to our potential between now and then.

I haven't visited this board for nearly four months but I felt this news was worth the event.  Partly because I wanted to see the monkey's that were going to fly out of the butt of a few posters that said otherwise to this occurring.  Good to hear it will most likely come to fruition since a lot of hard behind the scenes work has been put into it.  This will more than propel our program it will completely amplify our stature among BCS elite.  Miami on Thanksgiving Weekend is big and will most always have bowl implications for both, or at least one team.

Miami was charged about it since FSU became a conference foe, and UF's stance towards them has been bad.

BullsfanInTX, is right on.  Leavitt's played UM before, and I think you guys have heard of the flip.  Once our teams and athletes get accustom to playing against the upgraded competition Leavitt will have them ready and he will win against Miami.  In fact, again like INTX said, I don't know if by 2009 if we won't be the team between the two of us who will be riding a bigger wave providing we play up to potential.

Now let's finish out the facilities and master plan and this program will be among the elite.

P.S.  Good to see smazza is still his same ole cantakerous and delusional self.  I'd almost feel lost coming to this board without it.

Welcome back, Bien!!  I just hope that this talk about the USF/UM series becomes a reality soon because I am worried Miami's new AD wont want to have this series. I think money talks though, so I hope ESPN keeps on pushing this series to happen.

Also, the 2nd UF game will most likely be dropped - only a $50K buyout. If we lose the first game, I would want to play the 2nd game though.

Welcome back Bien.  I feel that an annual USF/UM game can be nothing but good publicity and exposure for USF.  Of course, winning those games would obviously be a BIG boost.

I had actually heard this was already a done deal several months ago, they were just ironing out the details (such Thanx day after FSU vs. gators etc.)

A very large donor told me then that he would have been "SHOCKED" if they didn't announce it soon.  I'm glad to see he was right!

It still hasn't been announced, as far as I know, but when it is, I'll be one happy Mama Bull.   LOL

Come on, Joe... you know it's a game of who can "retire" last.. if Paterno can coach one more year than Bowden, it might be possible to beat him for the most wins record.  Bowden is trying to hang on to keep the record.

i wonder what the miami fans think of this game now, after a season has gone by, and we were ranked higher than them, and will probably be a top 25 team to start off the season.
