Fair evaluation.  I will wait to see Ford play before I anoint him a better recruit than Grothe.  And yes Terry, I can't wait for Sept. 1, even if it is Elon.  USF football will exciting to watch this year, as usual.

Grothe had a solid freshman season

Thats it? Just solid?

More like "amazing and record breaking"

Only 107 days!

I thought this was a little odd too:

Leavitt hired new offensive coordinator Greg Gregory to help Grothe become a more consistent passer.

Ignores Tyrone McKenzie and the impact he will have, but otherwise a fairly accurate write-up.

and donte spires

and marvin peoples

Every QB does . . . some need to be reminded that Grothe was a FR and nearly carried this team. Now we have a running threat, something we lacked last season.

There were MANY great decisions he made that don't show up on stat sheets, you need to watch the game and understand it. Completed nearly 64% of his passes (School Record).

Go BULLS !!!

Oh give it a rest.  Grothe did make some mistakes, but not bad for a Freshman QB, with no RB.  He was CONSTANTLY under the gun.  No RB threat = D-line can focus on rushing the QB.  Give him a good tailback to make teams respect the run and he will have the time to make better decisions.  That along with the supporting cast of recievers (and no more boneheaded CRS debacles) we should see real improvement in his TD to INT ratio.  That is the only area IMO that he needs to improve on.
