Jenkins prob is the better talent. He will be a high pick in next years draft.

Tebow played on a National Championship team.  His press was well deserved.  MG has gotten more press than every other young QB in the nation, aside from Colt McCoy and possibly Matthew Stafford.  I've never heard of the CMU QB, so their SID must not be doing that good of a job either.

Getting back to the original topic, Jenkins should be around 10th on that list.  It does however, include the Safety position.  Zbikowski, for example is there just by name.  He had a terrible year last year by his own admission.  I'd have Jenkins above Justin King simply for the reason that he's played two more seasons at the college level and been above average every year.

...

I'd like to see the USF athletic department SID be a bit more vocal and proactive in promoting the play of some of the players.  Grothe's play has gotten some nice press, but certainly no where near the national press of some of the other Freshman that put up similar, if not lesser numbers.  Some of our defensive players deserved some better national recognition than they received last year.  The team as whole needs to be promoted better.  They need someone in the SID office to open a direct line with ESPN.

I would promise that ESPN and other outlets know Gerdes by name. I think he does a great job ... he's not an editor of media outlets ... can only "inform".

And when I have ever had a question or comment, he was quick to reply.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
