What we learned from spring practice: The biggest thing we learned about Auburn this spring was how much better the offense can be with a healthy Brandon Cox at quarterback. Auburn struggled on offense last year because injuries cost Cox his mobility and some of his accuracy. He was 100 percent this spring and played at an all-SEC level. The running game also showed it wasn't going to miss a beat despite replacing Kenny Irons and four offensive linemen. They ran all over the defense the last two scrimmages and have some very talented young backs behind junior Brad Lester.

The biggest question remaining for fall: While there are still some position battles at right tackle, wide receiver, linebacker and defensive back, the biggest question mark for the team remains at backup quarterback. Auburn had nobody to turn to when Cox was injured last season, and none of the backups showed the ability or consistency to play at an SEC level this spring. Auburn needs one of the young quarterbacks to step up and begin preparing himself to be a solid backup this year and the starter in 2008.

How many points will we put up against their D???

Not too many, which is why our D has to be even better.

I'm not sure how long our D will be able to keep up with the huge O Line of Auburn.  It seems like they'll be able to get 4 yards all day.  I think our only chance is to make Cox throw the ball, and have our athletes make plays on the fly.

If our defense isn't on the field overly  long, then I'm confident that they have a shot at containing the Tiger's offense. But on the other hand, if our own offense isn't able to sustain long drives to keep our D fresh...then it could get ugly. Alot about this game will be determined by our own offense early. If we struggle there out of the gate, the game could get out of control.

Auburn will be a tough game that could go either way.  I think it will be more of a defensive battle as it is early in the year.  These types of games tend to be defensive contests early in the season.  

If we win it will definitely be considered an upset.  Starter for starter I think we line up very well against these guys, but don't look for anyone in the media to cut us a break (now or for a long time).  While we will definitely be underdogs for this contest, I think we'll put up a helluva fight.  The SEC is not the end all to be all in CFB, and Auburn is not undefeatable by any measure.  

One thing for sure, this game will be a good gauge of our team depth for the year.
