All indications seem so, just never an official anouncement ... we just slowly moved away from it and have the new BULL.

I prefer it !

Who runs this site??

Courtesy Greg a while back:

-- Listened to Jim Leavitt's weekly radio show on Thursday night, and Leavitt has always prided himself as being an old-school guy who's "never turned on the Internet," but it's to the point of being silly. Leavitt spent a couple minutes hyping up USF's new site targeted at recruits, talking about how USF is on the cutting edge by having such a site, how Carl Franks kept pushing for the Bulls to invest in an important piece of technology, how much it will help the program. But when the hosts asked Leavitt for the URL of the site, he didn't even know it. And it's not that complicated -- theusfbulls.com -- but Leavitt was left to tell listeners to call the football office and ask his secretary for the correct web address. "974-7171," he said. "Ask for Tanya." I understand where Leavitt comes from when he says the Internet takes some of the personal interaction out of recruiting, and I think it's genuine on his part, but I'm thinking as a head coach you ought to embrace such a move at least to the extent of knowing the name of your own recruiting website.

haha, thats funny!  I never saw that blog!  The website is awesome looking!  It's gets annoying having to load everything, but that could be because of the slow computer I have at work!  :)  I can't wait to go home and play around on the site!   ;D

That's because it's all inside a Flash object.  Flash websites generally suck -- first, you mentioned the time they take to load.

Second, they are not search engine friendly at all.  This site doesn't show up on the first five pages on a Google search of "USF Bulls" (both as two words and as a phrase).  If you're not on page 3 or lower - you might as well be on page 1 million.

(Now, SEO may not matter for this site, since USF coaches give access only to potential recruits... but the casual fan will never see this site from a search engne.)

Third, Flash consumes a lot of RAM -- older computers and older browsers can't handle it.

Fourth, Microsoft just introduced Silverlight and Sun introduced JavaFX -- both of which will put Flash out of its misery.

Don't get me wrong.  The intro is pretty cool.  The graphics are awesome and worth whatever they paid for them...

But from a web-marketing perspective, Flash is about the worst thing you can use.

I've never heard of the Brahma Bull besides on here.  And I read the article that Jim posted a while ago and knew that we were once called it.  Since I began school it was always BULLS and that's it.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
