Quick trivia question, how many 30 win seasons does the USF Baseball Program own?

Hint-  1970 was the first year USF played enough games to qualify, but didn"t win enough

Well, seeing that its almost been 45 minutes and no one responded, I'll have to give you the answer.

USF has recorded 30 wins in a season, 21 times.  Not too shabby really,  especially when you compare the success to other programs.

Since 1990, this is our 14th time reaching the 30 win mark.  Baseball is easily USF's Winningest Sport, I can't believe more people don't get behind this team.

College baseball is a tough sell. The game is long at the Major League level, now add in alumminum bats which turn 6-4 into 12-10 and I can easily see why it doesnt catch on unless its a big name school, or a team who is consistently taking trips to Omaha.

smazza,

I agree. Cant wait until next season. I really loved the way we played this season under first year Coach Prado. They sky is the limit for this program now that we have a plan.

You are right college baseball is a tough sell, but the concerns you voice above are unfortunate misconceptions. College baseball is not like MLB. The games are typically done in less than three hours, but close to three hours. The fan definitely feels like more a part of the game. You sit closer to the field, can hear the umpires, coaches, and players talking on the field. The players play with much more enthusiasm than MLB players. The players come out of the dugout to congratulate each other after bunts, productive outs, RBI outs or hits, etc. If you or anyone else has not been out to a game, please try it and see how good it is.

Just like college football and basketball are better than the NFL and NBA, college baseball is way better than MLB.

Go Bulls!!

How can you not enjoy a baseball game full of offense?  I love the game and would much rather sit out at the Red than the Trop any day!   It's all preference...I love the college game and enjoyed it more this year than any I can remember.

let me understand this for a second...

are you saying that there is never any offense at the Trop?

or are you just saying you'd rather go to a bulls game then rays?

beacuse Rays have plenty of offense...and with their pitching as bad as it is...the teams they play ALWAYS have offense.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
