So if Greg mentions Tamplona on the paper would that satisfy some of you? Would that be "natural" enough? I'm not pro or against it but I don't understand the requisite for something to be considered "natural."  What if people outside this board like it after they hear it from a regular guy? It's not natural then because the person that coined it is just a fan as opposed to a reporter, or USF official?

Look at the totality of the situation. The Big House can be taken as one of 2 things. A really big house...or Michigan Stadium. When a reporter 1st used the term it caught on because it was the biggest stadium in college football at the time.

The Swamp was coined publically when Spurrier got to Gainesville. Although some had used the term before, he was the 1st to use it with the idea of mass appeal. It immediatly transformed the venue into "the Swamp" nationally. However if you said the Swamp to someone not familar with the team or venue they would refer to a body of water that is very humid and treacherous or the verb form, to be overwhelmed.

A term like "Tamplona" is fun, but it's not a term that will probably not catch on. Its hard for outsiders to make associations. It doesn't have any secondary meanings. It hasn't developed a secondary meaning, things like that.

Sure Greg could use it in an article, but even then I'm not sure people would pick it up like other stadiums have.

i.e. - The Big House; The shoe; The 12th Man; Death Valley; The Swamp....really there are not much out there that have stuck.

I'm trying to think of the nicest way to say it sucks.... but I'm kinda at a loss.

Not only does it suck, but I'm embarrassed when I see E.T.'s signature on opponents message boards.

There are ways to say you don't like it without being a complete ****.

E.T., keep on looking for ways to help shape an identity and promote the Bulls.  Some ideas will be good as you have proven, some won't be as good.  Either way I know you are using your energy for positive purposes.  Thank you.
