BE 2007 Football Preview

I don't know if this has been posted or not, but the 2007 BE football preview is out.  Posted on the bigeast.org website.  Jim Leavitt is on the cover holding the bowl trophy.

i didnt realize how small some of the other schools in the big east were.....

like syracuse and uconn.

Question about the bowl line up.  On page 2 they make the following statement about the Texas bowl.

"In 2006, the BIG EAST entered into a four-year agreement to

participate in the Texas Bowl versus an opponent from the Big 12

Conference. During the four-year agreement, the BIG EAST is guaranteed

to play in the bowl game twice (2006 and 2008). The Texas Bowl is played

at the state-of-the-art Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas."

Does that me we only get 2 years at Texas bowl, or does that mean we (BE) can be selected more than twice, but must be selected at least twice in 4 year agreement.

I think we only get 2006 and 2008 for the Texas Bowl.  They take CUSA on the other years right?

We only get 06 and 08.

"The Texas Bowl is partnered with the Big 12 Conference, Conference USA and the BIG EAST Conference. The bowl will feature a Big 12 school each year, and Conference USA and the BIG EAST will alternate years."

The BE better get 2 BCS teams this year, or the bowl lineup will be terrible.  Tranghese better be working the phone ASAP renegotiating better deals for the next go around.  You could have a 3rd or 4th place top 25 team going to the PJ.com bowl this year

the big east bowl tie ins are terrible.  i guess with only 8 teams and 2 of them being 2 of the youngest D-1 programs in the nation you can't expect too much but still.......

As I understand it for this year:

1. BCS

2. Gator/Sun

3. Meineke

4. PJB

5. International

6. Motor City (Big East is a backup for them).

We need to get more fans to follow the Bulls to bowl games thats the only way we can expect better bowl games.
