Per an article by Bret, the new closer for the baseball team will be Walter Diaz.  He pitched a scoreless inning of relief on Monday against Georgia Tech.  With Shawn Sanford moving into a  starter's role, that left an opening at the back end of the bullpen.  Need to win tonight at the Hall.

And Diaz is doing whatever he can. Even though he hasn't pitched since high school, Diaz has been "reminding" the coaches about his desire to pitch.

"He's been bugging us all year," Prado said.

Diaz's persistence paid off. With regular closer Shawn Sanford moving to a starting role, Prado said he will use Diaz as a closer the rest of the season after Diaz threw one scoreless inning Monday against Georgia Tech.

"I feel I can help the team if I come in closing. I want to help the team," Diaz said. "I like to get the ball in pressure situations. I like to be the go-to guy. I know other guys on our team can do it, but being a competitor, I just want the ball."

Ahh, I hadn't heard that.

They've been having Cleveland, Suarez, Diaz, and Angelberger throwing some bullpens lately at practice, so I wouldn't be suprised to see them this weekend with another short-roster trip to Seton Hall.

I was about to say......what is Wags doing here with a game about to start.  Makes sense.  I think we'll need all of those arms in the Big East Tourney.

Brutal, no gamecast, live stats,  or radio for the game tonight and the rest of the weekend.  How can a University in this day and age not offer this to their fans?
