Don't know if this has been posted yet from Greg's blog:

-- Which leads me to the story's origins, on a site I'd never heard of until yesterday, usfbs.com. You need a USF or UT e-mail address to register for the site, so I can't vouch for much there, but it's apparently where this story started. I was at Disney with my family Thursday, didn't get back in until after 11 p.m. Thursday, so you can imagine my woe when I find a long-running thread on the message boards at thebullspen.com, pondering this tip about Grothe -- it was too late for me to do anything to verify or deny it.  I've tried to be active on USF's message boards because it's a great place to exchange information, though there is the occasional wild-goose chase that comes from following tips. As much as USF fans are wishing this story had stayed unknown, secrecy is rarely a good thing.

I think Eric said it best on another thread:

Actually, I think this is a very important thread and here is my advice to everyone.  If you hear about something like this instead of posting it on a message board, let Vicki, Collin or I know about it so that we can get ahead of it and find out if it is true.  That could be the difference betwen something turning up true to being a minor infraction (which every university has every year) and a major infraction (the ones that cost us scholarships, etc).

So if you do hear of something, that is my suggestion.

Eric

The key is that a USF Fan should do as Eric suggested rather than "pondering" on here with something of this nature.

We don't really care what a UCF fan thinks .... but thanks for your input anyway.

I'm sorry, but I'm a little confused on whose integrity you are questioning.  I don't see anything on this thread that would seem to be viewed as wrong.  Perhaps next time include a quote of the text you find to be unethical.

I'm wondering how a heads up can "magically turn a major infraction to a minor infraction."

That could be the difference betwen something turning up true to being a minor infraction (which every university has every year) and a major infraction (the ones that cost us scholarships, etc).

Well lets say that an athlete is involved in something that could be a major infraction if he continues doing it and the school is unaware. by the school catching it and taking action and self reportint to NCAA it wil be treated diffrently that if it was caught by NCAA down the road.

Get it? I know you guys wanted badly for this to become a major issue, since you can beat our players on the field you want them out so you guys could have a shot.

Get ready for your beat down in Tampa this year.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
