Dead issue with USF, when will fans follow ?

bottomline in real life is

if you had a kid

he came home with 2 law enforcement officers

when you first saw them , you would crap a brick

when they told you your childs charge was serving a minor alcohol at his/her place of work

you would sigh in relief

because.....

everyone treats this like grothe is owned by usf.  like is isnt a real person.  A young adult, which makes him a man.  

If he was doing drugs, fighting at a bar, etc.  sure make it a big deal, but this, CMON!

He was arrested....sure many bartenders do what he did and dont get busted. Guess what Grothe did get busted and did get arrested and that is a FACT.

He needs to make better decisions off the field going forward.

I got caught up in the arrest terminology too - no big deal.

The cops say he was arrested, but most of us consider arrested to mean taken into custody.

The dictionary provides the cops version:  to bring to a stop

and, what I consider arrest to mean:  to take or keep in custody by authority of law

The term arrest carries implied significance of crime...here it is plain wrong to use - but I'm not a cop on a sting operation writing a good-sounding report.

Several USF sources indicated Grothe wouldn’t miss any playing time for the incident that occurred at the Bull Ring Sports Bar and Grill. Grothe would be disciplined in other ways by USF. The only way I see Grothe missing any playing time against Elon is if for some reason USF President Judy Genshaft or AD Doug Woolard steps in and pressures Coach Jim Leavitt into sitting Grothe for part of the game.

Right on.  He should be punished and running is too extreme.  I hope Leavitt yells at him for a few minutes and then gets back to work.  This is so silly.
