Several USF sources indicated Grothe wouldn’t miss any playing time for the incident that occurred at the Bull Ring Sports Bar and Grill. Grothe would be disciplined in other ways by USF. The only way I see Grothe missing any playing time against Elon is if for some reason USF President Judy Genshaft or AD Doug Woolard steps in and pressures Coach Jim Leavitt into sitting Grothe for part of the game.

...

“It is not an arrest, it’s a notice to appear,†... “He did not go through booking procedures. He received an order to appear in court. It’s not a whole lot different than a traffic ticket.â€Â

Can the doom visions end ?

Go BULLS !!!

Tampa law enforcement needs to find better things to do with their time.

I predicted he would lose no time for this.  A slap on the wrist is too big a punishment.

Not a big deal at all.  Why there are 8 page threads on this is ridiculous.

herman - multiple jaywalking offender.

ET you shouldn't be so quick to jump on someone until you have your facts straight.

Once again itks not a huge deal but he was ARRESTED. You do not have to booked to have been arrested. Most likely he will go to court and plead pt no pot contest. He can then say he has never been convicted of a misdemeanor. However, he would have to yes if asked have you ever been arrested.

Facts are that he probably will never visit a courtroom and the state attorney will drop the entire thing.

Herman is spot on.

Fact is he was arrested. While it was minor 2nd class misdemeanor it was still any arrest. Why do you believe he will not have to appear?

You should know better than to rely on info from the trib writers blog for facts.

I am relying on my common sense . . . this whole issue is blown out of proportion.

Common sense he will have to go through the motions like anyone else which means he will have to appear and probably get hit with a small fine.

I also disagree with this being a dead issue for USF. I think this incident will have the university taking a closer look at any employment by our student athletes.
