Thanks Jim.  Tight squeeze no matter where it it, but at least that would be in the Athletics Zone.

Is the space at the corner of Fowler/Bruce B Downs a wetlands or something?  It doesn't look to be earmarked for anything on that map.  From the looks of it, that is the area with the most space, although its not close to the other Athletics fields.

Slow day, but since this appears to be a no go., I'll ask the question.

I know its probably 15 years away, but where exactly on USF's campus would an On Campus Stadium fit/work?  I've looked at maps recently of campus and I can't tell where they would try to fit that sucker in.  Unless they were to tear down some existing buildings and put them somewhere else, I'm not sure where it could work.

Anybody have any thoughts on this?

Look at the Sun Dome parking lot... do you see a faint dotted line in the shape of an octagon?

That is the placeholder for the stadium.

That map (though created in 2005) is pretty much saying the Parking garages in the pink next to the sundome are 10+ years away so that means the the OCS could be built after those go in. I know a lot can change in 5-15 years but it seems that the OCS is about at least 12 years away and will be next to the sundome.

That would be the best spot for the OCS near the Sundome. It would make for a better atmosphere since all the atheltic building are right near there. Parking will be crazy, but that is the way it goes. I know USF continues to want to add parking garages, so those would come in handy on Saturdays. Also, they could use the Bull Shuttles to ship fans from the parking lots of the mall if they dont want to walk across campus. I personally wouldnt mind the long walk from the mall to the SunDome because it would be great to walk through the campus before and after the game. Keep that mall open, and hopefully get it renovated with better stores that way USF fans could easily shop, eat, and party after that game. A few sports bars located at the mall would be awesome. Kind of like have a International Plaza set up, but with more affordable prices.  Would be pretty awesome to have both of those thriving right near campus.

Call me crazy...but what if USF built an on-campus stadium (along with new dorms, residences, etc...) on the same property as USF's The Claw Golf Course??

Believe USF already "owns" the property The Claw sits on.

Trade a good (not great) golf course for an on-campus stadium and new residence/village complex?

Thoughts? Comments?

PS. Many schools build nice clubhouses for their golf team at near-by resort/country club golf courses to house their golf teams.

I could see it but the only problem is the area right next to the claw is a wild life reserve and I don’t know if the county would let it be built there.

Don't think we can build on the golf course due to it being classified as a 'wetland'.  At least thats what I've heard from others on this board.

They might as well when USF puts on a tournament they play it at Lake Jovita anyway
