this thread continues to be bs...this information would have leaked no matter what.  You honestly dont believe it was thebullspen.coms fault that grothe got caught?

Its Grothes fault, when you are the face of your football team, you dont do stupid ****, because people will talk about it.  Im sure there were USF students there that night who saw it.

The truth always comes out with high profile football players.  He should have never been there in the first place.

He should have never been there in the first place.

Why?

1.  It would have eventually gotten out to the public.  It was on ********.com first.

2.  I read that he didn't check the persons ID, I know all about checking IDs because I check IDs for alcohol all day long at the place I work at.

3.  Like I said before, now is not the time to be working as a bartender, He needs to be in school and focusing on winning the big east, he has the rest of his life to work.  I would trade in my job for a full ride athletic scholorship in a heart beat.

Grothe is an awesome kid and an excellent athlete and hopefully this doesn't hurt him or the team in the long run.  He made a mistake, we all make mistakes.  I guess I come off as a jerk about it because I don't see why student athletes would have a reason to work when everything they need is already given to them.

well, the might want to work if they have little ones at home that need to be fed. Don't quote me on this but I think USF used to have one of the highest percentages of players with children . I dont think MG has kids - but a lot of these kids have - well - their own kids. they might be working a second job to help support them.

Guys, as much as everyone likes Grothe (including me), this is just bad.

First, USF did not even know that the most IMPORTANT (that's right, the most important) student on campus is working as a bartender.

Why?  Why not work somewhere else?  Why, as an option, not volunteer or work as a sub at a school, since he's a secondary education major?

We know that this will appear on TV when we play.  This is what happens when you're an icon.  This isn't DIAA.  We have a bulls eye on our back and we need to take extra precaution for stuff like this.  I still don't understand how we don't even keep track of what jobs our athletes have.

Our starting QB star is a bartender.  Say that three times and see if it makes sense at all.

Lastly, shame on the Bull Ring.  You can't tell me that they didn't vision $ signs having Grothe in there.

Let's hope that the only problem was the sell of alcohol to an underage person.  And I sure hope that the Bull Ring did not pay what Grothe is really worth... if you know what I mean.

I don’t expect Flip to show up here for a while… which sucks.

Right, that's what happened. You intimated he he did some stupid **** in front of other USF students. I'd hardly call that stupid ****. He forgot to do something .... albeit something important.

How much actual spending money do they get? Maybe someone can answer ...

I know the ROTC programs give kids with a full scholarships like $150 monthly stipend, not sure what athletic scholarships give out

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
