Just looking at some of their stats, and they are impressive to say the least.  They have a guy that has 49 stolen bases this year.  That is crazy.  He has about 56 hits on the season, so basically every time he gets on base he steals a base.  Unbelievable.  Actually everybody on that team steals bases, but he sticks out the most.  They also have two guys with 10 HRs a piece and some gawdy batting averages too.

Pitching wise, they are the first team to have better numbers from their starting pitchers than us that we've seen all year.  One guy has a low ERA of 1.20, the next guy is around 2.40, and the third guy is around 3.60.  Needless to say, we have our hands full this weekend.  Somehow, we need to win two out of three from Lelo's former squad.  They will be pumped up, so hopefully our boys will be able to match their enthusiasm.

Go Bulls!

You're assuming that the only way he gets on base is if he gets a hit. He can walk, get HBP, or even strike out and make it to first on a WP.

I know what you mean though, I'm just trying to be a smart A$S. Any excuse to break away from studying for the CPA exam.

This series is big though, for many reasons. Big East, breaking the losing funk, etc. I really hope we find a way to step up.

I looked at that other stuff.  Ironically he only has 18 walks or so.  You'd think it would be more, but considering he's batting .380 or so they'd rather have him hit.  I thought it was a misprint really.  That number is ridiculous.

Or he could have stole 2 bags and a plate off of one hit  :-/

We need to win this series. It's as simple as that.

I expected this series to be nasty.  Louisville has historically had ELITE baseball.  Its a shame we couldn't take a few more conference games before this series.  I was expecting a sweep here...not rutgers at home.    >:(

Lets beat-up those birds!!!

I have to disagree that Louisville baseball has been elite. It hasn't. Coach Prado basically made it a respectable program, but the Cards were never in the class of Tulane or Houston or East Carolina in the CUSA days. The benefits of his program are showing this year, but this hasn't been a championship program.

Before Prado, well, not so good. UL used to play in a stadium with a ridiculous short porch in right field. Cardieri used to load the lineup with every lefthander he had. Guys who could mash like Gload used to salivate just thinking about that field.

Yeah, the Cards aren't anything special in baseball.  I don't know much about the program, but I know these are their best years in a long while if not ever.  And I think they're not even sniffing the top25(could be wrong).

It's anybodies series, IMO.  The Bulls need it more, but the Cards just lost to UK Wednesday and should be a little upset.

UL also has the luxury of not having to play Rutgers this year, and vice versa.  Rutgers is the real winner when it comes to Big East scheduling, as it doesn't play UL or WVU, both tough teams, but does play weak sister Georgetown.  Not to say that RU wouldn't win, but it helps.

USF didn't get any favors with their schedule as they play all of the top teams, and don't have the luxury of playing the worst team in the league, Georgetown.  Those are the breaks.  Need to take 2/3 this weekend from the home team!

Hope the Bulls can get things in order and get game one tonight with O on the hill... the bullpen is a big thin this weekend so he needs a good outing.
