In other USF news: Heath still has two openings on his staff and they won’t be filled by former USF assistants Frank Burnell, Greg Gary or Charles Cunningham.

Burnell, who took a recruiting trip to Washington D.C. on USF’s behalf two weeks ago, was told by Heath he wouldn’t be retained. Burnell interviewed for a head coaching position at a state junior college recently, but did not get the position. Gary also interviewed for an assistant’s position at Virginia Tech with former USF coach Seth Greenberg, but still has not been hired by another school.

Given Brunell's track record I was expecting him to be retained...I hope we can upgrade.

Both guys are good guys... i'm surprised 1 assistant wasn't kept... but that is Stan's perrogative.

Burnell did a tremendous job with Kentrell, SoJo, and even Mattis/Buckley in the post.

Hopefully whoever we get in his place will be able to develop players the way Frank did.
