You also have to remember that AJ would have to sit out a year.

No thanks... we need people NOW.

we need people NOW.

Absolutely! We need a lot of firepower if we are going to survive the longer Big East schedule.

Chin probably helps with that.

We also need some beef to go along with KG next year, and after. Cann and Williams MAY be a help there but those last 2 schollies need to go to BIG men, whenever he chooses to use them.

I do like how he went and reeled Chin in fairly quick... bodes well for the future.

If Cann is 100% healthy and is trimmed down, he can provide minutes. "Living large," I think he is forced to foul people and that doesn't help us very much.

As for Aris, I think we will have to wait and see. Major surgery takes time to heal.

Right on, we need 2 big bodies (who can play).

Right now, if Gransberry sits, we don't have a rebounder. I wouldn't mind 2 Jucos. 1 transfer and 1 juco would be okay. But 2 players for next year is ideal.

Let's say no to anyone who has "stone hands and lead feet".

Chin had been recruited by former USF coach Robert McCullum, who made a home visit with his family last fall, but the Bulls had backed off after Aaron Holmes transferred in from Florida State in January.

Heath is also moving fast on next year's recruiting -- while he may have only one scholarship available, he's already offered Clearwater point guard Luke Loucks, who visited USF this weekend. McCullum had already been recruiting Loucks and had offered him as well. Here's more on Loucks from the Times' Joe Smith.

It says 6'8 Power forward for Chin, but he is certainly not 6'8.  6'5 maybe, with heals on.  I still like this pickup as he is a good rebounder and scorer.  He fills a role opened by Mattis's graduation.

So we have filled Mattis' role, Buckley's role (holmes), added Curry & Jones (more fire power).

Only thing we really are missing is a big body to assist Gransberry.

Right now we have the same bigs as last year, minus Richardson, and with an injured williams.  Still a big problem area... and we only have 2 schollies to work with.

Chin told me today he's 6-7, 195, and his HS coach said he's a "true 6-7." When I was on the sidelines Saturday night, just ballparking him based on other people around him, I was thinking 6-6. He has a similar body type to Mattis or Saaka -- lean and long. HS coach said Chin has a frame that can add some weight, said he could easily get up to 210 or so before season starts.
